| Description | Letter written from Skinner Street, dated 17 December. Godwin [1768-1841, translator and bookseller] informs Ash [1764-1829, physician] that Mr Godwin [1756-1836, philosopher and novelist] has been made a 'chosen constable' and will be fined heavily if he does not serve the office. She asks Ash to help them by providing a statement stressing the severity of Mr Godwin's 'complaint'. She sends books for Ash's children. |
