DescriptionLetter written from Rome, dated 17 January and addressed 'Honour[e]d Sir'. Haller [1708-1777, physician] sends thanks for the presents offered. He writes that he is already expecting some of the books from other friends but accepts the offer of Italian wheats, barley and oats. He expects to have complete copies of his 'Chirurgical Bibliotheca' within a month. He describes his sighting of a great vulture and writes of his ill health. He thinks de Saussure will produce valuable works on the glacieres.
