DescriptionLetter written from E. I. College [Hertfordshire] dated 3 May. Dickinson is glad to hear that Eliza's journey to Norwood went smoothly and writes that he longs to see her and Wemyss again. He describes college as 'dull and quiet' and hopes to be able to visit home soon. He writes that he is persevering with Hindustani but does not hold out hope of winning the prize, and comments on news from home. In a postscript he expresses his pleasure at being invited to come home next weekend and looks forward to seeing Eliza, Aunt Stewart and Georgia, assuring his parents that it is common to take a few days leave during term.
