DescriptionLetter written from E. I. College [Hertfordshire] dated 5 May. Dickinson thanks his father for his kind suggestions. He goes on to explain that in his experience the best way of succeeding at the college is to pay special attention to the 'Oriental Subjects'. He justifies his approach to his studies, writing: 'I think the course I have pursued has hitherto answered pretty well, and I should be afraid of a similar result by a change'. He asks his father to excuse his candid statement of the matter and arranges his next visit home.
