| Description | Letter written from 37 Portman Square, London dated 13 May. Leigh tells Baker [1803-1880, surgeon and factory inspector] that he is pleased to comply with the request of the Odd Fellows.
Accompanied by a note that reads: 'Lord Leigh to Robert Baker Factory Inspector'.
In the former paper handlist the author is mistakenly identified as Chandos Leigh, 1st Baron Leigh (1791-1850, poet and literary patron). The author is probably William Henry Leigh, 2nd Baron Leigh (1824-1905), who lived at Portman Square. |
