DescriptionLetter written from Rochdale, dated 9 December. Bright [1811-1889, politician] thanks Messrs Strahan and Co (of Piccadilly, Manchester) for sending a book by Mr Blaikie but points out that 'it leaves out much that is of importance to "working people"'. He writes that the conditions of working people are determined by law, citing the Corn Law as an example, and concludes: 'A good law is worth a ship-load of books of good advice'.
