Is happy to provide Franklin with a testimonial and comments on a heavy series of engagements including a visit to Stratford to see Donald Sinden play Henry VIII and Peggy Ashcroft as Katharine. 4 November 1969

LAdd/6410: Nicoll is pleased to learn of Franklin's recent travels but comments that he has recently spent time in hospital. Hopes they will be able to 'make a trip abroad somewhere next spring'. 7 November 1970

LAdd/6411: Nicoll has recently been in hospital due to 'a bronchial attack'. Is pleased that the Shakespeare seminars 'are proving of service to you in your teaching'. Hopes Franklin will be able to visit England soon. Notes that Franklin's study of 'Travelers through Time' sounds interesting and is pleased to have been sent an abstract. 13 November 1972
