The address of the recipient, [John Bower] Nichols (1779-1863, printer and antiquary), is given on the reverse: 25 Parliament Street, Westminster. Thomas Harwood (1767–1842, clergyman and writer) agrees to Nichols printing 'a second Edition of my Erdeswick' with additional notes.
The work referred to is a scholarly edition of Sampson Erdeswick's 'A Survey of Staffordshire' produced by Harwood and first published in 1820. |
