Extent6 items
Date1922-1924
DescriptionLetters from Arthur Robert Ling (1861-1937), signed Arthur R. Ling ,and written on headed notepaper of the University of Birmingham in Edmund Street, where he was Professor of Malting and Brewing and of the Biochemistry of Fermentation, 1920-31 to Mr J. K. Hare of Henlow, Biggleswade, Bedfordshire.

This group of letters are dated 27 October 1922, 17 and 24 September 1933, 26 May and 14 and 20 November 1924 and appear to indicate a longer term business relationship between the two men. Professor Ling also appears to have personal knowledge of Hare's father whose nomination form to the Society of Chemical Industry he has signed. The majority of the correspondence is technical and appears to relate to specimens and samples of soluble starch which Ling has examined and tested for Hare
