DescriptionThese papers consist of minutes of the main committee of the Association 1922-1994; minutes of the finance sub-committee 1970-1994; and minutes of Annual General Meetings 1923-1999. Coverage appears to be complete from the Association's inception in 1922 until the 1990s. The minutes provide an insight into the organisation and running of the Association and indicate the Association's strength, concerns and activities organised for the membership.

The routine affairs of the Association were managed by a main committee consisting of Association officers and six elected members. The main committee had the power to appoint sub-committees for special work and could co-opt other members. All officers were elected at the Annual General Meeting which was held in March or April each year. Members holding the office of President were restricted to serving for no more than two consecutive years. The finance sub-committee was established in 1970 to assist with preparing the Association's budget for forthcoming years.
