These brasses are cited and described in Mill Stephenson, 'A List of Monumental Brasses in the British Isles ' (1964): Hatley Cockayne III & IV. Mill Stephenson suggests that the brass effigy of the lady, is possibly either Joan and Elizabeth, wives of John Cockayne, (d. 1490)
