Also discusses the cession of Matacong to France. Regards the cession of Matacong to France, “The arrangement was made by the Anglo French Convention of 1882, by the second Article of which Matacong was expressly declared to be a French Possession. That Convention was published in the 'Journal Officiel' in March 1883…Although it was not formally ratified, it was from the date of its signature accepted as binding on the two signatories”.
