Description | Album containing programmes for productions of dramatic and musical entertainments which were performed principally at West End London theatres, 1909-1915. There are two programmes for productions at the New Theatre, Oxford and a small number of programmes for entertainments performed at both public and private venues in Kent, some of which contain references to member of the Colyer-Fergusson family. For example, a programme for an evening concert of a branch of the Primrose League at Gravesend Public Hall names T. C. Colyer-Fergusson as the Ruling Councillor; and M. Colyer-Fergusson is named as a player at a performance at Wrotham Rectory in August 1911.
The majority of the programmes include cast lists and some include colour illustrations. Many of the programmes have also been annotated by Sir Thomas Colyer-Fergusson to include the date of his attendance and the initials of others accompanying him.
This album includes a number of loose newspaper cuttings of obituaries of a number of actors and actresses dating to the 1920s, 1930s and 1940s |
