Drawings and sketches of spandril carvings in churches in England (pp 1-30) and some cuttings of printed illustrations; additional notes, compiled by Richardson, relating to spandril carvings in Westminster Abbey and Lincoln, Salisbury and Hereford Cathedrals are interleaved in these pages and there are other notes on spandril carvings found loose at the end of the volume.
Drawings and sketches of examples of forms of imprisonment and punishment in England (pp 37-61), including lock-ups, stocks, whipping posts and scold bridles, and some cuttings of printed illustrations; additional listings of and notes relating stocks, compiled by Richardson and arranged by county, are interleaved in these pages.
Drawings and sketches of tympana in English churches (pp 130-149); and miscellaneous notes on tympnana are found loose at the end of the volume.
