Description from the Swiss booksellers leaflet which accompanies the item: 'Pair of leaves from an incomplete and mutilated manuscript of moral tracts in Latien, wirtten c 1450 in Northern Italy or in the Tessin, San Nazzaro on Lago Maggiore The script is a clear and fluent informal 'anticha corsiva' with numerous abbreviations. There were no decorations apart from a dozen small initials not noteworthy. The fine goat vellum, originally ruled nearly throughout for a two-column book, was used eventually for the present text. The folios are added by an inexperienced, much later hand.' |
