Administrative History | Information supplied by a researcher, Nov 2023:
'Anna Lucasta' was originated by Philip Yordan and rewritten by Abram Hill, Harry Gribble and members of the American Negro Theatre in Harlem where it was first staged at the 135th Street New York Public Library in 1944. It moved to the Mansfield Theatre on Broadway where it ran for 947 performances, making it the longest running non-musical drama with an entirely African American cast. |
