| Administrative History | The firm of John and Daniel Smallwood, rulemakers of Leopold Street, Birmingham was established in 1810. It remained in the same family and only became a limited company in 1952. It was one of the most prominent manufacturers of rulemakers in the nineteenth century and was one of only very few still in existence in the 1960s. No other records of this firm are known to survive. |
