| Description | These papers comprise records relating to Annual Meetings, probably brought together by the Secretary of the Association for administrative purposes.
Material in these files dating from the early period of the Association's history up to about 1916 is restricted to printed pamphlets containing the Secretary's half-yearly reports and financial statements, together with printed notices and agendas for meetings. Later files contain typescript and printed agendas; typescript texts or photocopies of typescript texts of the Secretary's Annual Report, sometimes with manuscript annotations; typescript copies of reports from Annual Meetings and Half-Yearly Meetings; typescript draft minutes of various meetings; press cuttings, predominantly from the 'North Worcestershire and South Staffordshire County Express' relating to annual meetings of the Association.
Internal evidence suggests that typescript copies of the reports from meetings of the Association were produced for this newspaper and the information used as the basis for their articles.
It appears that the Half-Yearly Meetings for which reports exist in these files are synonymous with the Factory Secretaries Meetings which are documented in the series of minute books at MS57/A/1/1. It is likely that the Half-Yearly Reports, included as printed pamphlets in the files covering the early history of the Association, were produced for these meetings. However, no Factory Secretaries Meetings are documented in the minute books before 1927. |
