Description | This volume contains records of the names and addresses of members in the 1970s, up to the time when the Association was dissolved. The first section of the volume contains lists of members, arranged by firm. These lists also include addresses, and details of contributions to the Association from 1972 to 1975. The second section of the volume also contains lists of members names and addresses, handwritten on the back of printed financial statements which have been attached to the volume, or on other pieces of scrap paper. Some of these lists also provide details of the date on which individuals joined the Association. At the back of the volume are two loose payment lists, giving details of the amount of funds paid to each member on the dissolution of the Association. One list relates to the first payment; the other relates to the final payment in December 1979. A note at the front of the volume states that the Chainmakers and Strikers Association was disbanded in December 1977, and that it was agreed to distribute the funds to members in proportion to the length of their membership. It appears that some of the lists in this volume were compiled for the purpose of calculating the distribution of funds. |
