|Description||Letter written from 15 Preston Street to Harriet Thiebault (her address at Coblenzer Strasse, Bonn added in different hand); dated Tuesday 27 51, annotated with the addition of the month of May and signed M.E.|
Wishes to see Harriet again but will not go to Germany. Reports on the travels of mutual acquaintances and informs Harriet that she may shortly be in Boulogne visiting friends, and expresses no interest in going to the Crystal Palace, explaining that she has been driven around the exterior several times, but has recently been ill and could not deal with the crowds inside. Goes on to mention the Pope's apparent attempts to convert England to Catholicism. Mentions the promotion of Monsieur Thiebault.
