Letter from Anne Pennington
Letter written from Bastia [Corsica] to Harriet Thiebault; dated 24 May and signed Anne Pennington.
Describes the difficulty she has had in getting a licence for her daughter Lilly to marry in Florence at the embassy, and goes on to give details about the marriage service which eventually took place in the drawing room. She asks Harriet to send her some lace and goes on to describe various items of clothing including Lilly's wedding dress. She mentions that the parting from her daughter has been painful and thinks she will find it difficult to be without her. Finally, she enquires when Harriet's daughter will be married.
