DescriptionMaterial generated by and gathered in connection with Flatpack Festival held in 2018 which organised a series of events and exhibitions focusing on aspects of social, cultural, and political life in Birmingham in 1968, concentrating on protest, photography, psychedelia, and redevelopment, and including events relating to the 1968 student protest at the University of Birmingham.
Material deposited by the festival organiser, Ian Francis, consists of incomplete set of issues of 'Redbrick' dated 1967-1970, and small number of issues of Birmingham Street Press, 1971-1972 donated by Jenny Wickham; set of black and white photographs taken by Simon Chapman relating to Birmingham Arts Lab; and digital files consisting of oral history interviews recorded with individuals active in different organisations or groups in Birmingham at that time, and digital photographs of ephemera and other material dating from the 1960s and 1970s used by festival organisers in research for the festival and for the book 'This Way to the Revolution'
