/5 Copy of letter from Oliver Lodge to Bishop Barnes, written from Normanton, Lake, near Salisbury, dated 1 December 1930. Lodge believes Bishop Barnes could guide the church towards spiritual truth if he opened his mind 'to experiences of a kind which will some day have scientific sanction, though at present they are unpopular'. He sends a copy of his son's comments on Barnes's sermon and discusses the relationship between truth and the imaginative or irrational.
