Description/1 Letter from Edmund T. MacMichael (Secretary of the Performing and Captive Animals Defence League and Jack London Club), written from 17 Buckingham Street, Adelphi, London, dated 13 September 1929. MacMichael requests permission to use a quote on publicity materials. He asks Lodge to speak at the Society's annual meeting. He encloses two leaflets of the Society (leaflets included).

/2 Copy of letter from Oliver Lodge to the Secretary of the Performing and Captive Animals Defence League, dated 14 September 1929. Lodge gives his opinion on fishing and shooting, performing animals, and zoos, and writes: 'With this explanation of my position you will judge whether it is appropriate to use the sentence or not'. He declines to speak at the Society's annual meeting.
