/1 Letter from Ernest Rhys to Oliver Lodge, written from Derwen, Hermitage Lane End, West Hampstead, dated 5 July 1905. Rhys asks Lodge to write an introduction to a volume of Huxley's essays and writings, or to suggest another writer he would be prepared to write about. Rhys adds that he met Lodge's son and was impressed by 'his range of ideas & ardour in uttering them'.

/2 Letter from Ernest Rhys to Oliver Lodge, written from Derwen, Hermitage Lane End, West Hampstead, dated 9 July 1905. Rhys assures Lodge that he would have absolute liberty to say what he wanted if he agreed to write an introduction to Huxley's essays. He suggests Lodge could write on Isaac Newton.

/3 Letter from Ernest Rhys to Oliver Lodge, written from Derwen, Hermitage Lane End, Childs Hill, dated 28 October 1907. Rhys tells Lodge about J.M. Dent's difficulties in publishing so large and cheap a series and asks Lodge to help by writing an introduction to Seeley's book, 'Ecce Homo'.
