Rothenstein writes that he is contributing a painting representing English universities to Henry Wilson's scheme for decoration of public buildings to be shown at the Winter Exhibition of the Academy, and asks Lodge to sit for the painting.
/2 Letter from William Rothenstein to Oliver Lodge, written from Far Oakridge, Stroud, Gloucestershire, dated 5 April 1936. Rothenstein writes that one of his drawings of Lodge has been selected by the Trustees of the National Portrait Gallery.
