Description/1 Letter from Joseph Sturge to Oliver Lodge, written from 318 Hagley Road, Birmingham, dated 12 March 1915. Sturge writes about German and American attitudes to the war. He writes about the possibility of a peace agreement and comments that settlements based on the humiliation of a people do not last.

/2 Copy of letter from Oliver Lodge to Joseph Sturge, dated 13 March 1915. Lodge responds to Sturge's comments about German perceptions of the war. He writes that he does not want to humiliate Germany but he does want 'to release it from Prussian dominance'. He gives his view on how the war can be brought to an end.
