Description/1 Undated manuscript letter from 'Patty' to Oliver Lodge [addressed as 'Olly']. Patty thanks Lodge for looking after her bird, and writes that 'Aunt Emily' is accompanying her in a boat, and that Lodge would like the places they have visited. She also asks him to pass on her 'best love' to Lodge's grandmother and aunt Anne. The letter is headed with an engraving image of army barracks at Maidstone.

/2 Manuscript letter from 'Patty' to Oliver Lodge [adressed as 'Olly'], written from Sydenham on 7 July 1856. Patty thanks Lodge for sending her a present, and expresses her regret that she was not able to see him when he was recently in Bromley. She also writes that she has enclosed a gift of a book mark, as she knows Lodge is now able to read. Patty passes on love from her and her mother to Lodge and his mother, and adds her address '3 Clifton Villas, Upper Sydenham' as a post script, hoping that Lodge may be able to see her if he is visiting the Crystal Palace. The letter is headed with an engraving image of the Crystal Palace.

/3 Typescript letter to Oliver Lodge from 'A Listener', 11 February 1932. The writer expresses their appreciation for Lodge's recent [radio] broadcasting, which featured a line from Tennyson's 'Crossing the Bar'. The writer attaches a [self-authored] poem entitled 'With Him'.

/4 Manuscript letter from 'Woodie' to Oliver Lodge, written from Montague Place, Worthing on 'Wednesday night' [10 February 1932]. Woodie praises Lodge for his performance at his recent successful lecture, and suggests he 'go and see Helen' and asks that Lodge is cautious when venturing out into the snow. Also includes an envelope, date stamped 10 February 1932.
