DescriptionThree memos addressed to FCC. According to the handlist, the recipient is F. C. Clayton [fl 1890-1891, Lord Mayor of Birmingham]. However, there is no evidence that this is the case, other than the initials FCC.

/1 Copy of memo from Oliver Lodge, dated 8 June 1925. Lodge recommends books on 'Einstein's gravity' and states that his own popular exposition is to be published by Methuen in the course of a week.

/2 Copy of memo from Oliver Lodge, dated 18 July 1927. Lodge describes the curvature of space and recommends Eddington's recent book 'Stars and Atoms'.

/3 Copy of memo from Oliver Lodge, dated 9 July 1928. Lodge explains why scientists' prefer the word space to the word ether. He discusses theories of the centre of force, attraction, and Einstein's idea of 'limited space'. He comments on the recipient's 'Psyche' article.
