DescriptionTypescript letter of two pages written on headed notepaper bearing the address of Normanton House, Lake, Salisbury, and dated 19 November. The letter is headed 'To Lewis S. Benjamin Esq' [Lewis Saul Benjamin, (1874-1932), writer as Lewis Melville].

Lodge addresses his correspondent as 'Dear Sir' and the content of the letter is on the subject of Benjamin's play 'Outward Bound'. Lodge requests the reservation of two seats to see the play again as there were 'one or two points on which I did not completely realise the intention of the Author'. He also refers to his neighbour, Lady Grey, who had seen the play twice and offers her comments and passes on her request to meet Benjamin. Lodge refers to Benjamin throughout the letter in the third person as 'the Author'
