He argues that Reinhardt attaches too much importance to the work of Thomson Jay Hudson [1834-1903, psychical researcher], writing: 'Your statement of theory is much better than his, and is likewise much closer to Myer's doctrine of the subliminal self'. He points out the 'vaguenesses and inaccuracies' in Hudson's work and complains: 'critics attacking the subject often attack not the S.P.R. [Society for Psychical Research] position but their idea of that position obtained from Thomson Jay Hudson's book'. He compliments the authenticity of Reinhardt's observations. |
