He thanks Sir William and Lady Huggins for the gift which he proposes to hang in his study. The letter is dated 17 November 1906

Administrative HistorySir Joseph Swan (1828-1917) was the inventor of the Swan incandescent filament lamp and of the carbon process for making permanent prints and it is this process to which the letter makes reference. Sir William Huggins (1824-1910) was a pioneer of astrophysics
