| Description | Three volumes of journals kept by R. A. Slaney, covering 1815-1817 and 1825-1826, in which he records details of his daily activities both in London and Shropshire, his reading matter, information about his legal work, and about his involvement in political meetings and interest in poor law reform. The volumes also include extensive entries about his travels abroad during this period.
Two further volumes comprise travel journals kept during a visit to Holland, and during a trip to Ireland in 1838 and to the English Lakes in 1850. These volumes contain detailed daily entries describing activities and sight-seeing, as well as giving some information about local society and culture. |
