| Administrative History | Bosnia Herzegovina was occupied by Austria in 1878 and annexed in 1908. In 1919, following World War I, it became part of the new kingdom of the Serbs, Croats and Slovenes, later named Yugoslavia. In 1992 Bosnia declared itself independent and the new constitutional framework of Bosnia and Herzegovina was established in 1995 following the Dayton Agreement, which had brought about the end of the Bosnian War.
Some of the aid listed in SCF annual reports as going to Serbia or Yugoslavia was spent in Bosnia-Herzegovina. For details see under Yugoslavia. SCF initiated activities in the country in 1995 and within six or seven years had offices in Sarajevo, Tuzla and Baja Lucka, with project locations across the country. Work encompassed work with the Roma, support to children deprived of parental care, juvenile justice and awareness raising of violence against children and issues of child vulnerability. |
