Following a survey carried out in 1972, SCF established five mother and child welfare clinics based around Rowdah [Rawdah]. SCF set up a tuberculosis vaccination scheme and began a health education programme. In 1977 SCF operated a mobile clinic to provide mother and child health services in villages. In 1980 SCF agreed to participate in a UNICEF primary health care programme. In 1983 SCF projects were handed over to the Government of Yemen.
