On the reverse the part has been written at sounding pitch (rather than playing pitch) then crossed through.
Catalogue numbers SH/426 - SH/498 - principally instrumental parts - are on pieces of ms. paper cut from larger sheets. Typically, each sheet of paper contains 3-6 staves, with music on one side only. The majority of these parts appear to date from 1750s or 1760s.
