DescriptionLetter written from [Birmingham?]. She shows concern for Mr and Mrs Shaw's illnesses. Mr James is not too well, but is still capable of preaching; he gave a funeral service recently for a cancer victim. Mrs Walford is showing compassion for her less fortunate neighbours. Mrs James' confinement is near; she and her husband are very happy, as are Mr and Mrs Lee. Miss Hickcox praises Mrs Parkin's looks and character; the latter's parents are leaving Birmingham to live in the London area. Mrs and Miss Lobrot, being in financial difficulties, are obliged to keep a guest house for single gentlemen.
