DescriptionLetter written from Wolverhampton. She has been ill, having caught cold when obliged to stay in the brew house because of Anne's scalded foot. The children also have coughs now the weather is so damp, and Elizabeth shows concern for John's health. She wishes John a happy birthday and awaits his approaching visit. A certain parcel has not yet arrived. Potatoes are very expensive at present - 4/6 a bag. The water pump is faulty. News of tenants at Gotenhill: one chimney smokes so much that a window has to be left open.
