| Description | Letter written from Buxton. Expresses concern at the increase in cholera outbreaks, particularly around Sedgley. She will have to go home on Saturday, especially if Anna [?a maid] leaves, as there are still problems regarding servants. Her limbs are troubling her; bathing seems to help to ease the pain. She supposes John will not be coming home; inquires after Mr Crane. (Thursday evening) She is still bathing regularly. She is awaiting news of the Plague which worries her considerably; tomorrow is a day of prayer for their town. The Duke of D[evonshire] is coming. |
