She is sorry to see their superintendent preacher leave. The baby is having fits again; leeching seems to help him. Elizabeth is hoping to visit her mother soon. She hopes her father is recovering, and that people are visiting him. John is in Liverpool; the bad weather is affecting him in his job; the crops are suffering from the heavy rain too. The children are all healthy and making good progress. Elizabeth's sister is still single; it seems she will remain so.
