| Description | Minutes of a committee established to manage degrees offered jointly by the University of Birmingham and the University of Reading. Membership consisted of members of academic staff from both institutions. Internal evidence states that the Board of Studies was in existence in 1995, but the records transferred to the University Archives cover only the period from September 1996 to December 1998
The minutes discuss examination results in general; reports on teaching quality and syllabus composition, and include copies of External Examiners Reports. They also record discussion about student recruitment and publicity and advertising for the joint degree courses
The last meeting of the Board of Studies was held on 7 December 1998. The minutes include a letter from the Head of the School of Biological Sciences to the Academic Policy Support and Quality Assurance Section dated May 1999 confirming that the MPhil in Plant Breeding and Crop Improvement was being discontinued, a decision agreed with the University of Reading |
