Membership consisted of the Pro-Vice-Chancellor of the University of Birmingham (chair); the Principal, Deputy Principal, and BEd Course Leader at Newman College; the Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Arts at the University of Birmingham; the Dean of the Faculty of Education and Continuing Studies at the University of Birmingham; and the Head of the School of Education at the University of Birmingham

Minutes of the first meeting, held on 18 May 1994, record discussion about incorporation of legislation; transfer of responsibilities for academic audit; schedule of University services and the access that Newman College students had to the University of Birmingham Library and Careers Service, and Newman College staff had to the University of Birmingham Staff Development Programme; policy on degree titles and academic dress
Appointment of External Examiners; submission and updating the 5 Year Academic Plan referred to in the Accreditation Agreement; draft proposals for new courses and development of existing programmes

Minutes 21 November 1995 contain papers relating to progress towards validation of programmes at Newman College by Coventry University. Minutes 13 February 1996 record further discussion, paper to Committee of Principals and Deans for approval for Newman to enter a 'partnership relationship' with Coventry, though existing Accreditation Agreement with Birmingham would stand in its present form, but Newman College and Coventry University to enter a partnerhips relationship for some programmes of study before the end of the five year Accreditation Agreement with Birmingham in 1999

Minutes 1997 and 1998 contain substantial papers relating to Newman College Academic Audit 1997-1998

Last formal meeting of the Committee19 May 1999 as the Accreditation Agreement was due to lapse at the end of the 1998-1999 academic session
