| Description | Minutes and supporting papers of sub-committee appointed to 'deal with mural tablets' in the entrance hall of the Great Hall in the Aston Webb complex of buildings. Membership consisted of the Pro-Chancellor Walter Barrow, the Vice-Chancellor, Vice-Principal, Professor Bodkin and Professor Batho. The Secretary also attended meetings. Minutes exist only for meetings in 1935, but there is also correspondence dating from 1937 which discusses the proposed move of statue and portraits, and the design and position of new memorial plaques to Alderman Clayton and Hugh Morton. Although not mentioned in the minutes, the associated correspondence contains references to plaques to be placed in the newly built Hills chemistry block in 1937 as well as discussion of matters relating to the changes proposed for the Great Hall entrance |
