| Description | Minutes of University of Birmingham Strategy, Planning, and Resources committee. There is an almost complete set of minutes for the period from 17 February 1987 to 18 May 2023, but minutes for the meetings held on 22 October 1996 and 16 June 2015 are missing. Minutes and supporting papers for meetings from the 2019-2020 academic session onwards are held in digital format
The Strategy, Planning, and Resources committee was established in 1987 to replace the Vice-Chancellor's Planning committee (see UB/COM/6 for records of this committee). It is a committee of University Council and advises Council on corporate strategy for the University, embracing planning for all aspects of University activity, and ensuring the alignment of all aspects of the University's strategy in relation to academic, financial, physical and human resource planning. It is responsible for recommending to Council the allocation of resources between the academic and non-academic areas of the institution, and for maintaining a reserve for future development and for allocation to the two areas. It is also responsible for determining allocations to individual Budget Centres and monitoring their performance against these plans and allocations, and for ensuring effective management within the University |
