| Description | Accounts consist of a series of ledgers comprising accounts for the entertainments committee. Accounts for the years 1953-1956 consist of cash and bank accounts; accounts for events organised by the committee, largely consisting of 'hops', parties, balls and the Degree day dance, giving details of expenses and taking; miscellaneous expenses; Guild of Undergraduates account; income and expenditure account; and statement of balance. From 1962, the financial records follow the same format, but the events now include regular film shows and a jazz hop, and there are also accounts showing miscellaneous film expenses and income and expenditure accounts for films. Accounts for events show payments for catering; union and band wages; and staff and band refreshments. By the mid 1960s, there are also 'discos', and the ledgers include Carnival accounts |
