By 1930s the annual reports comprised Secretary's report, with reports of work of Guild committees, including Debating society; Treasurer's report with statement of accounts and balance sheet; report of the Athletic Club and Carnival committee There were evidently pre-war Honorary Treasurer's reports on the activities of the Finance sub-committee but from the 1929-1930 academic session the junior treasurer's report was included consisting of financial report on the activities of the Guild. War time reports give information about the hosting of the Kings College Medical School students, Royal Engineer Cadets and Refugee students cared for by British Council as well as details about the involvement of students in relief work, fire watching etc. Later in the war, external membership was extended to graduates of any university doing war work in Birmingham or undergraduates who have had their course interrupted by war.
Post-war annual reports are much more detailed; there are separate reports from the Union committee and Finance committee as well as detailed accounts, and the usual Secretary's Report. There are no holdings of annual reports between 1962 and 1992, and there is a further gap between 1999 and 2006. Reports for the 1990s give a brief overview of the management of the Guild, and lists sabbatical officers, as well as giving details about welfare provision, Guild campaigns, and some of the Guild groups engaging in work with the local community.
