Title | Papers read before the Society |
Extent | 5 folders, containing 40 items |
Date | 1901-1921 |
Description | Papers read at the Society's general meetings and retained for reference. They appear to be largely the speakers' own copies and include manuscript, typescript, printed and carbon copies with manuscript annotations and amendments. The papers were arranged broadly in chronological order in numbered packets prefaced with a contemporary contents list. The original order has been retained and, where necessary reconstructed, in line with the order of the contemporary content lists. Items not included in the lists have been filed in chronological order. This is an incomplete sequence, including: Packet IV 'Papers 1901-1903'; Packet V 'Papers 1904-1908'; Packet VI 'Papers 1909-1911'; Packet VII 'Papers 1911-1913'; Packet VIII 'Papers for sessions 1919-1920; 1920-21; 1921-22' Mostly written by post-graduates, the papers illustrate the early work of a number of students who went on to distinguished careers in Chemistry. |
