DescriptionThis scrapbook contains a written account by Barker which discusses some of his inventions, largely relating to enzymes, while he was working as a consultant for a number of companies during and after his career at the University of Birmingham. This is followed by photocopies of research papers and patent applications on behalf of the Atomic Energy Authority in 1959; the National Research Development Corporation in 1963; Aspro-Nicholas Ltd between 1965 and 1972; Ranks Hovis McDougall between 1967 and 1974; the Royal College of Surgeons 1972; Koch-Light Ltd later Genzyme UK from 1965 to 1984; Boehringer Mannheim from 1969 to 1971; Gist-Brocades N V from 1978 to 1991; Pye-Unicam Ltd between 1970 and 1980; ICI Ltd Agricultural Division from 1973 to 1991; Foseco International from 1976 to 2009; and Alginate Industries, later Kelco International from 1981 to 1990.
