Extent1 item
Date16 August [1941]
DescriptionThanks her for the letter and parcel. The outdoor plays at Birmingham have proved popular with the middle classes but not with the working classes, for whom they were intended. Many people come to Birmingham just to gape at the ruins. Mrs Dale died during the week - a happy release. His old wardrobe mistress is staying with them and is quite worn out after 6 months touring. Went to tea at Wind's Acre with Laura Knight, Scott, Doris Tate and a high official in the Forces. Has also seen Dame Elizabeth Cadbury. Who is going to Cornwall for her holiday
