DescriptionWent to Birmingham with Laura Knight. Had supper with Professor Bodkin. Scott is enjoying great success with I have been here before. Spent the next day with Laura Knight in court, where Mansell Dale won his case and was awarded £800 damages. Went to a meeting of the committee of Plays in the Parks for the people. Stayed with Harry Hughes in London. Attended the National Theatre meeting and the Forces Art exhibition. Saw Gabrielle and went to the cinema with Professor Bodkin to see Esclaves blanches; remains unconverted to films. On Saturday had lunch with Willie Armstrong and later joined James Agate and Horsnell. On Sunday saw the Peaseleys and on Monday Ivor Brown. Went to the Cinema with Harry Hughes on Tuesday morning and found it very dull. Mrs Herdman has had another boy. Laura Knight's picture, Horace and the lamb, has gone to the RA
